Lions law: "The law of the moon, the law of punk rock!"

"To be a " and to be a skinhead means above all passion, friendship, it is a lifestyle with values, and if you really believe it, time will give you right..." This is the thought of Victor, singer of the Paris Lion Law, before her concert on Saturday, September 24th at the Sottotetto Sound Club for the ninth edition of Bologna City Rockers.

Lion's Law is one of the best bands in the new European punk rock scene. Born in 2012 in a Paris suburb, the group has already released three ep and two albums, including the beautiful "A day will come" (Contra rec.) and numerous concerts around the world. Healthy carriers of the original spirit of skinhead culture, Lion's Law, have always distinguished themselves in music by successfully mixing the hard and fast sounds of the founding fathers of Punk Road / Oi!, British and melodic research, which is so expensive to a particular "pub rock" across the channel from the mid-70s.

Let's start with the beginning of the group. How and when do you start playing lion laws? We all played in Parisian Oi bands, we were friends, we said: "We should start a group, we should do something different than the usual French Oi!...." in the other bands we sang in French, we wanted to make a Punk/Oi! group with English lyrics.

Why did you choose the Löwengesetz as the name for your group? LL: We wanted an epic name, something that would stick in your mind. Leuvengesetz is a metaphor, like the jungle Leo, in life you have to be the strongest. LL: We wanted to make a powerful and melodic Oi between Perkele and Discipline, something brutal... a mixture of English Oi, melodic, influenced by Pub Rock, and American Oi, influenced by Hardcore.

We wrote this song because we liked the parallelism between the skinhead and ultra movement, the feeling of a big family, the spirit of union. Let's talk about your other music projects now, like Rixe. LL: We wanted to form a group with a simple, dirty, direct sound, like an 80s group that sings in French.

Something quite different from the law of the lions. What does it mean to be a French Skinhead today? LL: I read a few days ago that being a skinhead was reduced to shopping...we believe that being a skinhead is all about passion, friendship, a lifestyle with values, and if you really believe it, time will do you right...we went to Colombia to play and there were thousands of skinheads of all ages.

Vamente une scenera skinnhead viva. To keep the scene alive, you'd have to do concerts, fanzines, radios. Cosi Tieniiva La Stage. As long as there are bands that make Oi, there will be a skinhead scene.
