The title page of the issue is Joseph Parsons, an American artist and actually a citizen of the world, one of the fathers of the emo-folk-frock scene in Philadelphia, who recently released the beautiful double book The Field/The Forest. In a second interview with Carla Zerbi (Rouge Promotion Musicale) we tried instead to arouse your curiosity about the different professionals in the record industry and to deepen the work of the promotion through the careful look of the interviewee.

MIDILAKE: a date in Milan in March for the indie folk group from Texas.
Made up of five musicians who met at the North Texas School of Music, the group debuted in 2001 with the first Ep, Milkmaid Grand Army, which is sold a thousand times locally. In 2004 the group released their first real LP, Bamnan and Slivercork, which was strongly influenced by the psychedelia of bands such as Grandaddy and Flaming Lips and produced in England by Simon Raymonde (Bella Union), allowing the group to cross national borders thanks to a long European touring that will introduce them to a wider audience.
The psychedelic sounds of the first record are then abandoned in the second record, The Trials of Van Occupanther, which brings the group back to a style that resembles the folk music ballads of the seventies, the first source of primary inspiration proposed by Neil Young and Crosby Still and Nash, who propose the music of the seventies, and who consecrates the quintet to worldwide success thanks to the triumph of the beautiful song "Roscoe", recently ranked 15th in the BBC 6 Music ranking of the best 100 songs.
In 2010 Midlake released The Courage Of The Others, and if the previous work had been heavily influenced by the early 70's from Neil Young to Fleetwod Mac, The courage of Others instead looked at English folk bands like Fairport Convention, Pentangle and Steeleye Span, resulting in a darker, mysterious and less immediate sound than the previous album.
The dopo l'uscita of the group 2012 Tim Smith, the bands and bands è composa da Pulido (vocals, guitar, keyboards) Paul Alexander (bass, keyboard, bassoon, guitar, backing vocals), McKenzie Smith (drums, percussion) Eric Nichelson (guitar, harp), Jesse Chandler (keyboard, keyboard, flood, backing vocals) and Joey McClellan (guitar, backing vocals). Although Tim's departure from the group was destabilizing for everyone in the beginning and changed the roles and approaches of individual musicians, today, as Pulido, the current front man of the group, says, with Antiphon comes a new balance that perfectly expresses a world of sound, an honest representation of Midlake as a group in its entirety and not as the will of a single.
So Antiphon marks another step on the musical path of the Texan group, which leads to a new, familiar and yet completely new reality, where the sound becomes less folk and more rocking, richer and more dynamic, influenced by the psychedelia and the different tastes and complexes of the whole midlake.
