Song & Story

It is good for the heart, good for the mind, good for the body, to know that Italy 2019 is not just Trap, It-Pop and Singer-Songwriter from the campfire or social welfare, there are still those who travel with passion on the path of art, pissing in the lapels of all the "Indies" he meets to "get behind the Turks and take Damascus".

A movie that will be hard to forget, black in all its facets, terrible in the truest sense of the word..... A waltz between the shelves is still not a simple movie, almost aseptic, if you take it in the wrong direction, colder than necessary, even with the silent protagonist and his face a little like that".

France is the European home of notir, or as the French call it, pole, of notir in its rawest and most anti-spectacular form. In the old town, going to Niutàun: a mad punk group founded by two generations.

Second interview of the series "Trilogy": The protagonists are Niutàun, a punk group that separates between new and old, a little like the same members, very young and no longer very young. Interview A funny and "lively" interview with the four members of the group, funny people, but serious, a bit like the genre they do.

Answer (Ugo): We have been playing for a long time, Piercesare plays from the "cradle", I know him right after the "cradle", I went to his concerts and sometimes I interfered, also because I liked the genre he made. After the earthquake I went to the theatre, but I decided to form a group, I contacted a bass player and Piercesare for the guitar, forming the "hard core" of the group, instead we chose a young local drummer.

The genre we made was Ramones, The Clash and Sex Pistols, which are the common passion of all components. In 2011 we definitely became a group. For personal reasons the bass player could not be present in person, but was present at the creation of new lyrics, for the Livespiel we sometimes took a guy who replaced him, who is a drummer, but plays the bass very well (in fact he sometimes replaced the jury, the drummer) and now he really is the bass player of the group.

Also, because it needs compactness in punk, it is quite difficult to play as if there were four soloists. The politicians of that time tried to do this, and in part they managed to do it (harm), and we adopted this name, which reminds a little of the whole situation, but plays with it.

So look at Pupo, the Ricchi and Poveri, Le Vibrazioni, I have to... Of course, our favorite artists are the classics of punk: ramonones, the clash, sex pistols. The great thing is that there is this mixture of our lyrics that is sarcastic, ironic and disrespectful and a very essential music, "classical".

Are the Niutàun texts in Italian or English? Our texts are in Italian, personal speaking texts in English leave the time they find, also because we have things to say, Italian allows you to do it in a non-trivial way, there is a certain metric, there are rhymes that can be exploited.... in English you make a sentence that does not mean a c...o, then at the end you put flying and drying and here is the rhyme.

Does the choice of language also depend on gender? Some say it's easier to get through with English. There is Volo, this group to which we are referring, which has brought the Italian, pieces of m...a, around the world.

Q: It's a punk modernno? There is both the commercial and the experimental part. For example, there is a group, Dropkick Murphys, that has a strong folkloristic part, but at the same time a punk part that has developed strongly, is modern and I personally find it very beautiful. Let's assume it's no longer the punk of the three chords, but has become more elaborate, almost like rocks.

I think punk wasn't just music, it had a social meaning that he doesn't have now; it's one thing to be punk in the 70s, and it's one thing to be punk with ridges today that just makes you laugh. Punk, understood as a social mixture of denunciation and clothing, was born and died in 1977; afterwards the social part, the musical part, even the clothing developed, but it is no longer a single concept.

I don't want to judge by that whether it's better or worse, but when he was born, he needed yours..... or the queen, who doesn't exist now. Contemporary punk bands have developed musically and have their own credibility, but the social part is no longer there. Panel: In summary, we can say that punk 77 is one genre, punk another; Ugo: Then punk isn't necessarily speed, for example there's a record from The Clash that doesn't have all that speed.

Basically in punk the social concept has been lost, for example a Ramones carat act who did not say in their career that a c....o will last a thousand years. Now there are more musical abilities instead, but you can't mix them with the v...........o, the energy itself is different because the social context is different.

We want to remain true to these origins, it's not so much the formality that plays a role as the attitude, I always say this: In this genre it's not who plays better who wins, but who has the most fun, and if you manage to entertain the audience, to drag it, it means that you do the right thing.

Obviously the bands mentioned above remain our points of reference, but we hate certain monkeys of some bands that are very fashionable, we don't care about the covers because we have things to say and we want to say. Q: A curiosity: But should the covers be "identical" to the original or not?

There are also bands that are different. For example, we try to use the spirit of covers and bands and bring them into a show that is completely different. Wait, the insights of the "monoband" are also good, but there's a limit, because it's one thing to dress up as a guitarist and maybe even make a mistake when you do the song.... or you see what he has learned, deepened and done well, but that has nothing to do optically with the original.

iercesare: For example, the keyboarder had stratospheric equipment, for a person who can afford one sixtieth of that equipment, does it make sense to make it a coverstrip? Judge: Another thing that doesn't make sense to me is making bands of tributes for those who are still alive, for example the various "ligabuate", but what's different is paying homage to deceased artists because it means reviving something that isn't there anymore.

The theme of the covers can instead be a lack of creativity, only their own songs might be taking it too seriously, so we try to create a union of all these things. From a commercial point of view this kind of thing makes sense, they bring people into the clubs. The colourful language, the sympathy and lightness of some of the answers are characteristics that highlight the ribbon and its four components.

Hey Ho, Let's Go "*. I interviewed a punk group called " Niutàun " in this paper. F: How did the name of the group come about? One of the most important things about the Aquila and Niutàun is the pronunciation of the New Town, which is the name of the structure the politician had tried to do.

It is the fusion of our texts and the classical punk songs. F: Your song texts are in English or German?
